From what I'm reading a large majority of Americans want tougher background checks so it will be harder for criminals and the mentality ill to get guns.

The NRA on the behave of the gun manufacturers they represent are fighting for weaker background checks and de-nutting the ATF.

American public vs the NRA.... 2 masters. Can't serve them both. And we know who's winning.

I think a lot of people still make the mistake of believing that the NRA represents it's members, and that it's primary goal is protecting the 2nd amendment, neither of which is true. You can see proof if this if you look at their position of background checks, which they oppose even though a majority of their own members favor it, and it obviously is not against the 2nd amendment.

The NRA is the gun manufacturers lobby, plain and simple.
