You should change the title to:

Don't be an idiot and shoot at burglars running away in front of a cop.

Why would someone want to shoot a fleeing burglar?

And while you're noticing that, society is full of wannabe gangsta thugs who probably grew up with crack dealers, so they are given a black market gun and then spend the rest of their lives doing sleaze bag break-ins and holdups on defenseless people that can't light their ass up.

That isn't the point. If someone burgles a home and is threatening the residents with immediate harm with a weapon then by all means blast away. But anyone who would shoot a fleeing burglar has some serious screws loose...at that point I'd pin it on the resident who would be the more psychotic actually.
