that was a lot of pretty words to say that the orthodox got f**k rekt in the fourth crusade and can't get over it.

the fourth crusade was a venetian folly. by destroying the roman empire she set up her own demise. as the ottomans grew in strength from the ashes of the byzantines, they chipped away at venetian ships. with their loss she lost the ability to defend herself when napoleon ended the most serene republic. was it all just chance, or was it god's vengeance?

didn't have a strict hierarchy, but through precedent everyone turned to rome for important decisions. byzantines just got sour that constantinople wasn't as important. bunch of loser greeks.

I don't care how religion is taught or practiced as long as it doesn't disrupt the principles on how this country was founded. IE: I dislike religions that are trying to legislate their morality.

the venetians terroristically targets the genoese within the empire, being so bold as to, in The City, destroy the genoese quarter. and then that justifies further horror at the hands of these heretics? that's payback?
