The dialectic method is the same. Marx merely "stood Hegel upside down" by opposing Hegel's criteria in the dialectic.

Let's be clear, Hegel's dialectic was Spirit coming to know itself, this process being the motive force in human history, to at some point ultimately achieve Absolute Spirit. Marx's dialectic has f**k to do with this outside of a certain inevitability that he postulated which should be rejected.

it's a method of argumentation, or rather, a method of viewing two opposing forces and how they resolve themselves. to suggest that viewing two opposing forces is always a dialectic is an incredible dumbing down of the term into meaninglessness. so yes, it is a method of looking at something. it is a dialectic

and without berkeley there is no hume so i guess they might as well have been the same philosopher.

oh wait, that's outrageous because they were totally opposed to one another despite using similar methods and theories.
