Well so long as you recognize it's no more or less valid of a conclusion than believing that you created the universe yourself, or that pink elephants did, you're free to believe in whatever delusion you'd like. Just keep it out of the classroom and don't try and use it to attack proven science.
And I can deny something other than our universe kick started itself. We don't know how the universe came to be. And a layman's understanding of all things outside of time and space (if anything exists outside of time and space, go ahead and prove that) !/ "spirit".
