If you currently don't believe in God and were offered the chance to believe in God for a day would you accept the opportunity? I'm not talking about the 'just open your heart' bullshit. I'm talking about if someone were to be able to neurologically rewire your brain for a day so that you perceive things the same way a believer would. At the end of the day you'll be asked whether you want to remain in belief or be rewired back. You'll remember the experience regardless whether you choose to be rewired back.

Will you accept the offer? Are you afraid that you may not want to be rewired back once you believe in God?

Nope.

The inverse of this question is: "Hey athiests, if you weren't so afraid of how great god is, would you have the balls to be religious?"

I don't think people actually believe in religion. They say they do to socially manipulate others. That's why cults/religions profess such bizarre beliefs. It doesn't set anyone apart to believe the sky is blue, or that the ocean is salt water.

But if you say you believe in a guy with a flying horse who flies it to heaven, or a guy who can't be killed it sets you apart from those that don't believe that. It's a way of marking who is in what social group and how loyal they are to the leaders of the group. Also it makes it easier to figure out who to get rid of etc.

Why would anyone want to live forever, even if it was in heaven?

I can't think of anything worse. I much prefer the current reality: hopefully some of the atoms that make up my body will end up being used in a tree or a hot chick or something.
