Thing is though, a lot of the Mormon doctrines are outright heretical to nearly every christian denominations. Jesus coming back again, the book of mormon itself and the notion that the virtuous can somewhat ascend to godhood.

I've heard of the LDS movement staging a bit of a P.R campaign as of late, the stuff i've seen the whole 'my neighbour is a Mormon' thing seems to skip over this stuff. And in part, that's what's making it effective. If what I've mentioned was more heavily publicised at the moment, i think it would do Romey a hell of a lot of harm with the Calvinists at least.

True, but again, the same could be said about catholocism, which I don't think anyone would argue is not mainstream at this point. In certain parts of the country you can still pull up to a stoplight and have some old blue-haired lady hand you a xeroxed pamphlet explaining how all the papal traditions are actually satanic rites, lol.

No. Mormonism will remain on the fringe of society regardless of the outcome of the election. I see just about as many if not more Scientology PR ads online than Mormon ads, I don't see an upswing in Scientology recruiting anytime soon.

Mormons have been making a push in the 3rd World, I have seen a lot of Mormons and they are building churches all over the place.
