Beast mode docking station.

I have this idea for a docking station, but it'd be better if someone else already had this idea, so I can just buy one.

Basically, I want a laptop that is portable, but when I'm home, I also want to be able to play graphics intensive video games on it. If I wanted to get a heavy duty processor, it'd make the laptop heavy or make it heat up too much. So instead of having a heavy-duty processor on the laptop, I just want to off load it somewhere else, let's say a docking station.

So when I'm playing video games, it'd take the concept of cloud gaming where the graphics is process in a powerful server and fed to your computer via a video feed, except that instead of a powerful server it's just your local beast mode docking station.

Anyone know of something like this in existence?

That's just using your laptop as a tiny little monitor.

Mostly my philosophy: Buy the cheapest possible laptop, and put the savings into a hot desktop.

You could buy a USB graphics card and hook it up to a docking station.

USB doesn't even have close to the bandwidth needed.

USB video cards are for hooking up to a TV or projector or whatever. They are not graphics accelerators.

Buy an iPad and get a sweet gaming desktop PC,

Or just get a smartphone.

Work at a job that provides you with a laptop. Buy a performance desktop for home use.
