I'm not in the business anymore so I only work on friends and family computers, so I haven't seen much of Win 8.. Most people I know still have XP and 7.. Anyway Win 8 has been panned and vilified since it's release. A couple of people I know that do have it don't like it. seems to work OK, it's just 'different'..

Maybe every other MS OS needs to sux.. 98 bad, XP good, Vista bad, Win 7 good, Win 8 bad.. Win 9 is guaranteed to be good.

I started playing with 8 when they first released the developers preview...and I loathed it, pretty much instantly. Wife has a Win8 laptop now. I hate it too. It has a touchscreen, and every time I want to use that laptop I have to wipe her stupid fingerprints off of it...ugh.

Touchscreens have their place...but why a laptop!? Half of the beauty of laptop these days is that it doesn't have a touchsceen. It makes as much sense as putting a keyboard on a tablet...because then all you've done is turn your tablet into a laptop!

They're going to have start handing out the OS for free. Apple is. Now the Chinese government is pouring billions into developing their own OS, to eventually knock US products out of their market. Tough to beat free, though, no matter who you are...

Oh forgot to mention how big a pita it is to connect Bluetooth devices. I have to go through what, 5 screens to get to a place to add a device, whereas on XP, I can just right click running in the systray and click Add Device.

Everything about Windows 8 screams horrible design for desktop/laptop/slate pc design. I guess they figured everyone would want touch screens? Would be much better to just let the user pick the design format they want based on the device and have the appropriate things come up for that design. I'm hoping thats where Win9 goes.

Would have worked out if a bunch of people had bought surface tablets. But...that didn't go as planned at all. Everyone was talking about the "post PC" world...but that didn't happen either and desktop computer sales recovered somewhat.
