didn't they just discover, via voyager 2, that the model of an extended helosphere is wrong because the sun isn't moving fast enough through the interstellar medium?

yes, there is no bow shock. they believe they saw it on other stars, but our star seems to not have one. they thought the solar system was moving faster than the data now suggests

it's running at a little over half it's initial power but it's only going to make it another dozen or so years with enough power for the instruments. and then it will fly onward, descending into a wormhole and in a few hundred years will return in vengeance
