wow, interesting. I wonder if they can detect cancers other than that of the lung? On the other hand I would hate to end up having to get chemo because I just ate some beef jerky one day before visiting Dr. Rover.

yeah - other stories about dogs sniffing different moles to figure out which ones were malignant and/or melanomas.

known? or suspected? this was a study being done to see if it warranted more study to determine the actual scent. the answer is yes, they should try to figure that out

On a slightly related note, I've known that dogs are able to detect when people are going to have seizures for years. So I'm not surprised by this at all. I mean if a dog can sniff out a dead body buried in ten feet of rubble, it isn't a stretch to imagine they can smell things currently eating your insides.
