And actually, half of it wasn't even my parents. Read bogleheads or fatwallet or flyertalk and all the information is there. It's shocking how financially illiterate most people are, even wealthy or educated ones.

Most people aren't savvy enough for that stuff man. Yeah it's their fault but we protect a lot of people from the full consequences of their dumb decisions. I'm with Ex on this one.

At the very least, companies ought to be able to demonstrate why a credit check is necessary for the job position.
