We could just, well, you know... Not let people come to our country without a lot of money or a very particular set of skills?
I'm not an anti-immigration person, and there are a lot of shitty and dumb Americans out there, but I don't think we should sacrifice our own integrity because the rest of the world thinks condoms are anti-religious or something stupid.
All it's going to take is one little f**k up and everybody from Germany to California is going to call for immigration to be stopped. Isolationism is coming if things spiral out of control.
Buy local is a huge thing now. State pride is up. People are becoming more interested in America for Americans. It's just being masked by liberal yuppies such as myself as a cultural thing. Is always buy Ohio-made stuff if I have the opportunity, and I eat at local places and avoid chains. Of course that's not perfect or an end-all solution, but it seems like everybody I know is doing the same thing.

Yeah we are fortunate that we actually have similar cultural characteristics with Mexicans.
