As long as you feel that she had made no bad decision, then there is nothing that could have fixed it because you have made her a passenger rather than the driver of her life. If that makes you feel better, so be it. But the truth of the matter is as long as you don't own it, you can't fix it. You have to take responsibility for the decisions that you make in this life. when you do that, you are able to make better decisions going forward.

thanks tony robbins, but real life doesn't work that way for a lot of people. in philly's case, there were systemic problems with sexism preventing any kind of real autonomy.

SHE COULD NOT HAVE PURCHASED A LIFE INSURANCE PLAN. SHE WAS NOT IN A POSITION TO MAKE THOSE DECISIONS. Further, what kind of life insurance do you think she could have gotten that would have raised 3 young children to adulthood? They weren't rich when my grandfather was alive. Insurance would have helped a little, but she still would have been poor before it was over.

my grandma graduated college at 17, became a teacher, got her masters, and was an officer in the navy during the war. my grandpa was enlisted in the army for the war and later worked on trains. my point here, comrade, is that my grandmother was the one who was educated. she worked, same as my grandpa
