It's an interesting dilemma. If I were black and I saw the sign I'd be offended, I guess. But as a blue dood I personally wouldn't be offended and would readily accept the request.
I can totally see how it is offensive to anyone of any race, but personally I wouldn't really care one way or another.

Yes a truly horrible situation - I can completely understand her reaction to the situation, and I can completely understand the choice the hospital made. Personally if a 25 year veteran nurse is caring for my baby I could not care less who or what she is

A woman can say she wants her gynecologist to be a woman, why can't race be a factor?

Discrimination is discrimination. If a person can request the gender of a nurse and the hospital allows it then a person should be able to specify the race of the nurse.
Unless of course there's an acceptable double standard right?
