It's a great idea, although I think they should always be on. This will allow us to put thousands of police officers in jail for the continuous and systematic abuse of the public's civil liberties.

I dig the idea, but the judge went way beyond the scope of her authority ordering such a specific performance on the part of NYC. Oh silly fed-judges.


They used dash-cams in really only 1 jurisdiction in my state, Grand Junction, I've heard nothing but good things. Not only does it make it harder for cops to lie, it also makes it harder for my clients to lie....(look! right there, you admit you being drunk right there! now shut up and take the plea!).

Some departments already have officers utilizing small cameras in mock up pens. The only limitation is the duration of the recording possible in such a small device without sacrificing quality due to battery supply and storage space. I like the idea...but I think it sucks if you're out on beat and bored to tears trying to talk to a bud or something...I'd want to watch my language, demeanor, etc.

Criminals would laugh at cops wearing gg thinking they are nerds.

These things are supposed to record 30 minutes behind when the button is pressed, and then forward. So, to conceal something they'd have to find an excuse to wait half an hour before activating it. Might be interesting explaining that when the complain comes in?
