He was probably only going to face a little jail time and all those journals went public anyways. He killed himself because he had a history of depression. It's unfortunate, but you can't blame anyone else for his death.

He had a history of depression and the unbelievably aggressive prosecution exacerbated his state beyond his capacity to cope. The overzealous prosecution can absolutely be cited as a contributing factor.

We don't even know how much time he was going to get. He killed himself before it even went to trail. I blame government for a lot of things, but this guy chose to kill himself. I'm sure his prosecution influenced his decision, but so what? Was the government supposed to treat him differently because he had a history of depression? I agree, they were being too aggressive, but that killing yourself is not a logical reaction to that.
