I think the word "a-swimming" has a silent G.

The phrase is in vernacular in the first place so it is strange that someone would would be penalized for using that very vernacular to repeat the phrase.

A few years back they had someone with a slight speech impediment. He gave the correct answer but could not pronounce it normally. He did not get the win. Total BS imo.

Ya, at first I was kinda like, "BS...". But then, I haven't watched that show in at least ten years or more and I have a Southern accent and even I know better than to drop a sound on that show. As Monkeybutt noted, this ain't the first nor is it the only time it's happened. I know that much just because Google News is my home page and from when I watched it with the parents 25 years ago. I can't think of a time they've ever backed off a decision either. They will review the audio during the show sometimes, but then, after the commercial, they decide and it's final. Jeopardy is the same way. They've always been that way. With Family Feud the rules are a lot looser and the judges kinda flaky. Anyone actually going on one of these shows knows that much.

She doesn't have a Southern accent either. But, she is getting more attention this way than she would have for just winning, so, well, hmmm.....maybe the lady doth protest too much.

Swimming and Swimmin' are the same word. This from a guy that is pretty deliberate in his pronunciation. Dropping the G is just about as old as English itself. It did not start in the south, it started in London. Interestingly enough, the same place that song started (the version we sing).
