MS had a pretty rough launch. A million units sold globally against a million Sony sold in N America alone...which happens to be by far MS's best market, at least historically. Sony already knows they've got Japan and Europe in the bag, so focused very successfully on N America. Plus, the much vaunted voice and gesture stuff seems to just not work about half the time. At least one gets that impression from watching the launch coverage over at giant bomb.
MS has this thing where they try to force things onto consumers that consumers don't want. Like Metro and Kinect. We'll see how holiday sales figures go, I guess.
