I much prefer the Winter Olympics for obvious reasons. Lots of badass sports.

Sorry, but any "sport" that requires judges scoring people isn't a "sport". You finish first, you win. You jump the highest, throw the farthest, or score the most - you win. Your triple-axle was tighter than someone else's? Good for you - now go home.
For me, there are exactly 2 "must see" sporting events in the year. 24 Hours of Lemans and 24 Hours at Daytona. Daytona was this weekend, and Lemans is in June.

The Olympics originated in ancient Greece, where nude wrestling and nude running were the cornerstones of the first olympic "games" several millenia ago.
Therefore the modern Olympics, by definition, were birthed in a nude cradle of madness and pedophilia. That things have evolved the way have should be unsurprising.
