Uh, this movie was done by Darren Aronofsky. Anyone who thinks this was going to be a straight literal biblical retelling doesn't know who he is.
He did Black Swan, The Fountain, Pi, Requiem for a Dream, and The Wrestler (being the outlier).
This movie was always going to be ridiculous in some way. Noah is getting good reviews, so I might go see it. Crowe especially is getting praised.

eh, Christians have had mixed reviews about this movie. I doubt this makes a shit ton of money, actually.
If people weren't aware, the studios tried to edit the film to make it literal so they could get that Christian money. But Aronofsky refused and fought tooth and nail to keep his vision. The screenings among Christian conservatives is what prompted the response from the studio.
It's pretty obvious with the commercials/trailers that they're trying to dupe Christians into thinking it's literal, but word of mouth will spread fast enough. Just wonder if the rest of us will want to see it. Good reviews so far might make it do well enough.

its too bad it wasn't literal, it could have been amazing satire. it could have shown kangaroos swimming across the indian ocean to get to the ark and stuff. maybe it could show that god sent them on their migrations generations before the ark even started, so you know, it makes SENSE. or have the galopogos tortoises going there, bobbing in the water to get back to the mainland and then walk 10,000 miles before having to walk 10,000 more o nthe way back
