So the Phillies are 3 years into what can only be called a steep decline. The Mets are 6 years into "rebuilding". And the Phillies still have a better record than the Mets, who are last place in what is arguably the worst division in all of MLB.

Edit: The Mets dropped further into last place tonight by losing to the Marlins. Meanwhile the Phillies are leading 3-1 in the 6th inning. We are not a good team but baseball remains enjoyable as long as we are doing better than the Mets.

2 weeks ago when the Mets beat the Phillies 4 out of 5 all you had to say was 'Phillies sux'.. Now you're celebrating the Phillies 4th place and under .500 record?

I think all the fans of any Philadelphia sport team fans have an inferiority complex.

The Mets offense is SOOOO bad it is maddening watching them.. But still I watch or listen to every game. During last night's game the announcers mentioned over the past 16 games the Mets team batting average is .190. .190 over almost 2 1/2 weeks.. And needless to say over those 16 games the Mets are something like 4-12..

Playing in that grand canyon called Citifield I can understand them not hitting homeruns, but the fact that except for Murphy virtually every other starter is hitting below .250? There is no excuse for that. They're at the top the league in strikeouts AND they're 28th out of 30 in hits and homeruns. They're 29th out of 30 in team batting average, .232......AND also 2nd to last in slugging %..

They strikeout a ton, they can't hit HR's, or get hits and that means shitty team BA's.. That's a recipe for losing..
