i don't wear the five fingers because they are fashionable. i hate the way they look too, but they are good for running marathons in because my knees don't want to kill me 10 miles in. i also run barefoot too, but i need to build up a supple leathery foot to be okay with stepping on small rocks, and in the winter that kind of goes away
