Christianity is the most inferior monotheistic religion in history. All monotheism is based on shitty, archaic beliefs, but they at least tend to follow a certain internal logic. Christianity doesn't even bother to do that - it is so convoluted, hypocritical and contradictory that it barely qualifies as a belief system.

Those who reject nearly every precept and moral principle proscribed by the Bible are pretty much the best embodiment of Christ you can find - which speaks volumes about how much it makes sense.

If you are going to be monotheistic, become a Jew or a Muslim. You are wasting everyones time with the wishy-washy BS known as Christianity.

Yes, but being a Christian is just a way for people to feel like they bought cosmic insurance without ever having to actually do anything. It is the lazy mans monotheism.

Why do you think the bedrock of your religion is faith, not acts, whereas all other monotheistic religions require concrete, irrefutable demonstrations of obedience?

That's a nice quote. What are you required to do? Pray five times a day facing the sun? Give homeless people your leftovers? Not eat pork?

Seems like acts are the least important thing, though. I can easily lower my head and be politely silent while others say grace before a meal. What's significant is that the others at the table may actual believe. If all I had to do was jump through certain hoops there would already be a fluffy cloud in heaven set aside with my name on it, complete with a naked and moaning horde of nymphomaniac malakhim.

Belief is hard. I think that the true believers are quite a bit rarer than people would like to believe. There are lots of cars parked in front of churches on Sunday. But that doesn't really mean anything.

The Pope pissing off the christian establishment seems to me to be the most truly Christian thing that's happened in a damn long time.

Each and every one of those Commandments can be broken, but heaven is still to be had, correct? All it takes is faith. Also, those are Old Testament, which I'm told can be obeyed or disobeyed at will.

As for the beautitudes, they require no specific action whatsoever.
