A quick Google search reveals that she does face a fair degree of animosity. Most of it centers around her mediocre acting skills, her refusal to behave genuinely at Awards shows, and the fact that her face is very, very punchable.
I agree with these people. Her role in this movie is most certainly going to be some sort of lame love interest, which will distract from the otherwise great plot and turn at least half the filim into a thrilling rom-com set in space. Putting her beside somebody with the acting chops of Matthew McConnaghey (spelling?) is only going to highlight her deficiencies.
The only two things she's done well at: appearing in "Between Two Ferns" and her role in "Les Miserables." Everything else is generic, Sandra Bullock, Reese Witherspoon, pretty white girl trash.
