As mentioned earlier, I've done this with a poster before, and it made threads unreadable. That's because that poster would actually post good posts (just pissed me off) that other people would respond to. Therefore, I was only seeing one side of a conversation and it was impossible to understand what was being argued.
However, I finally broke down and took Galt's advice. And you know what? I've noticed no decline in being able to understand the threads, yet I don't have to deal with stereotyping attacks, childish insults, stupid gifs, etc. I guess that so many people either have him on ignore, or ignore his posts, that it doesn't matter.
He's like a homeless guy on the street. Yeah, he's there if you look for him. But, everyone seems to unconsciously step around him without even noticing he's there.
