Lol. A lot of my favorite hip hop came out of the 5% craze. From what I can tell it was a weird attempt at a cross between a social movement and a cult masquerading itself as an academic discipline. Full disclosure though, I'm a white guy, so the message was never particularly crafted to appeal to me. Bottom line though, none of the rappers who remained relevant after the mid 90s seemed to stay commited to any of that 5% stuff, so that shows how seriously any of them really took it once it was no longer fashionable.
