Is it feasible to visit, say, Tokyo and a few of the cooler areas in the "country" around there and then hop on over to China and hit up Shanghai / HK and a few cool neighboring areas that might be less frenetic?
Might do an open-jaw. Usually easiest IME.

Being a DAD, tends to make me look at vacations a lot different than I did a few years ago. Now all my vacations are family oriented. In October this year we are torn between Disneyland (California) and Washington DC.

Damn Disney world totally lived up to the hype when I went there as a kid. Space mountain was the coolest thing I had ever experienced at the time.
