Is Comrade's view the widely held belief of people who read the books? I'm a dissenter I guess. It's not perfect but I feel like they're really killing it for what it is: an adaptation of an epic book series that is so sprawling and complex that many things have to be changed for it to work as film. I think those of us who have read the novels tend to fall into the mistake of thinking of the TV show as a companion piece for the books, and like Comrade said, it's awkward when the show doesn't follow our expectations. But the show has to stand on its own, and it has to be made with a viewer in mind who has never read a page of the novels. It's not awkward to people who aren't focusing on the inconsistencies, and since we don't even know how the whole thing is going to end yet, we can't know for sure if the changes they've gone with are to help make a later central plot point of the books work appropriately on the show.
tldr: yeah it's getting less familiar for readers, but it's still fun
go ahead. keep screaming "Shut The f**k Up " at me. it only makes my opinions Worse
