okay but being registered dem and voting dem doesn't necessarily make you one. at least in my eyes. you guys seem to take issue with like half the platform.

I figure as long as I'm onboard with better than half, I'll stick around. The platform is pretty big. Very few are going to down with all of it. A third of Dems are conservatives, bear in mind.

Its like with the GOP. These days you get the impression you've got to sleep with a bible and a six shooter under your pillow to qualify for membership. Just isn't the case.

Yes, there are conservatives. What we don't have much of is people inclined to defend the GOP. The debate most newcomers are probably looking to have is one within the parameters of your standard Democrats vs. Republican debate for whatever the issue of the day is. So even though we have conservatives, they don't see anyone on the side of the Republicans, so until you get to better know the members here and developed a more nuanced understanding of our discussions, it superficially appears as though there few to no conservatives posting here.
