I pay $29.99 a month for 30mb/s here. Every 12 months when they try to jack my rates up I tell them I'm going to switch and they give me another 12 months at the promotional rate. Haggling is the only fun part about dealing with cable companies, that and telling them you are going to cancel if they don't stop trying to bundle in a home phone line and television.

I always haggle with the "customer loyalty department" at Cox when the jack my rates up. You have to ask for them when customer service person that picks-up your call at the beginning. Reasonable folks there.
