Destroying ourselves is meh. Species go extinct all the time cause they failed to adapt. Destroying the world on the other hand is actually pretty epic.

I don't think life can be extinguished. It's part of a natural physical process that is inherent to all objective existence, even if an asteroid hit and stopped the life process on the planet earth the forces that cause this process would still exist, and it would just happen again.

To be clear, I don't share Dharma's views, or Cohles, but I think they need to be taken seriously, on an intellectual level.

I personally think every human being is an incredible badass, capable of achieving things so far out of proportion to their weak, puny bodies and messed-up mentalities, that it blows my mind. People are also capable of extreme giving and kindness, and there is a lot of beauty in our species.

On the other hand, we are self-destructive, arrogant, selfish and all too willing to behave stupidly, individually and collectively, if it means having shiny things.
