I was watching Doomsday Preppers and while each of the people featured had their own ways of dealing with an end of the world scenario each one also had a different prediction of how the world would end.

So how do you think the world would end?

I predict we'll all die when we drink this to celebrate, due to a foreign contamination that's missed during production:

How would an economic collapse destroy the world? I mean yea it would screw a lot of humans over, but most other life forms I doubt really care that much and the earth would arguably be in better health because of it.

Every one of the OP's options have occurred multiple times already. We will live on. The only ones profiting from this hysteria are the guys selling gas masks and rifles.

I guess we'd need to define end of the world? Does that mean end of humanity, or end of civilization as we know it?

To knock off the species, I suppose an epidemic or an asteroid strike could do for us.

Knocking down civilization is a lot easier. We've built up an artificially high population using cheap energy and all the technological advances that cascade down from it. Take away the cheap energy and we'd have a pretty nasty depopulation event most places.

A serious ecological collapse could be just as dangerous as anything else, even if people's ideologies won't allow them to deal with the idea to begin with.
