A lot of people hated on the Big 10 this season, but the lackluster teams were all in one division. The other, which was won by conference champ Michigan State, had only one team with a losing record overall and five team, including the Spartans with at least 8 wins. Not too shabby if you ask me. The new playoff system is going to suck because, as prof points out, the determinations of many are going to be reduced down to 14 people. Uh, no. Div I needs to adopt a real playoff where every conference champ is put into a playoff bracket and then play the games from there. Teams in lower conferences are division I the same as schools in the SEC, ACC, etc. but right now none of them have a shot of being a national champ, which is bullshit. Why be division I if you can never compete to be the top team in your division?

Is this a f**k joke? Right now, the system is shit and they pick 2 teams to fight for the title! There is almost always a good 3 or 4 team.

A playoff system will pick 4 teams, which makes it MUCH more unlikely a 5th place team has any claim to a shot at the title. The fact that fewer people pick it is f**k irrelevant, almost all the coaches say the same thing and it's not like the 14 will go against the rankings and leave out a top 4 team. That fact is completely irrelevant.

Look at this season. I still think Bama should have played for the title and were a better team than Auburn. A playoff would take 4 teams, all with one loss, and give them a shot to battle it out. Even in a year where the SEC has 2 of the top 3 teams, a 4 team playoff would give the big10 winner shot at the title, whereas the current system wouldn't.

Not to mention, its going to be expanded to 8, and I think 16 actually once the NCAA finds the balls (i.e. finds the cash to make it profitable) to rearrange the schedule to accommodate a 16 team playoff.

The system right now is a joke. Every f**k year there is a complaint. You have undefeated teams that don't get a shot to play for the title? That's won't happen with a playoff. If you aren't excited about this you know JACK f**k SHIT about college football. This would give non-sec teams a shot at the title more often, and would give 1 loss SEC teams a shot at the title. That's fantastic for everyone involved, and most importantly will give us 3 fantastic and relevant games a year instead of just one, and will create a more deserving and uncontested champion. I think ben is full of shit about every conference champion. Sorry, but f**k Big east champion shouldn't be anywhere near the title. The 6th place SEC team is more entitled. Do the top 8 f**k teams. If you aren't in the top 8, I don't give a shit who you are or what conference you are in, you are not a champion and don't deserve a title shot.
