Wonder if I can wear my gopro...
It was a Facebook conversation. Apparently, I'm completely ignorant about what police really go through because of my ideal that they shouldn't treat civilians like the enemy and shouldn't be militarized.

I would say it's the armored cars and camo. If those wannabes want to be soldiers and play with real toys they should join the army like everybody else and not bully unarmed, innocent people.

So great, they got their kick in. No need for them to keep trying to relive their glory years

I wouldn't go. They will probably shoot you and sprinkle crack on your body for arguing with them on Facebook.

How about using the kettling?
Using LRAD systems against your fellow Americans?
Relying upon force more than most Western nations combined, while not suffering a greater rate of police injury or death?
Armored cars, drones, advanced surveillance equipment (license plate readers, facial recognition, trackers).

I don't hate marines for like the millionth time. They're just over-glorified, and wholly unnecessary.
And generally speaking, yeah I don't like cops. And there's no need for armored vehicles for police officers. Absolutely none.
