The Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare) is supposed to help ensure that more Americans are covered and that they cannot be excluded from care due to prior health conditions. But opponents of it criticize it for the burden it puts on businesses as well as the bureaucracy it created. Additionally, since many insurers are shielding themselves from potentially higher expense they're raising their rates or giving less discounts.
Those who support private healthcare like the idea that competition would drive down costs. Those who oppose private healthcare don't like the fact that in order to drive down costs insurers are likely to exclude those who need medical coverage the most since they're the most costly.
What if we set up a system where we're back to privatized healthcare, the government will enter in the market as a competitor operating to sustain themselves. The only limitation is that the government backed insurer cannot turn away patients for prior conditions (others can), but the government backed insurer will get a certain amount of grant each year to offset that cost. This way we foster competition, but still ensure that those who need coverage the most still get it, and without adding significant bureaucratic cost.
