Fantastic film now on Netflix. Watched this tonight and I thought it was entertaining, funny, and meaningful.

Highly recommend.

I'm not watching anything with Hitler as a character where he isn't a fascist, racist, genocidal asshole and dies at the end of the film.

I don't care how meta it may be. I don't even want to watch any documentaries of him at this point. Let him stay thoroughly dead.

the book was written by a german and was hugely successful in germany. if it doesn't offend their very sensitive attitudes towards hitler and nazism i don't think you need to worry about it making light of hitler as a person.

Sure. I'm not worried about it making light or even a comedy of it. I just shouldn't have posted because I just don't care about that movie. Schindler's List is all that I ever need to have watched about the Nazis though I have seen far much more and have read about far much more of the history than is at all necessary for life. I'm simply done with fascism. Watching it, reading of it, etc. etc.

I'll watch the trailer for this thing just so I don't unintentionally offend anyone 'round here.

If it's still on Netflix after I watch all of the movies that I am going to watch in the next few weeks I will keep it in mind and may well give it a watch.
