The Olympic Games are an extremist display of nationalism and tribalism. The Olympics are bad.

Russia is banned, and they will see the Olympic flag hoisted should any Athletes from Russia (4th largest team in the Olympics, lol IOC you really showed em) win. still, those who were let in are charged with "defending the country's honor". why is this? because the displays (symbols) in the olympics are not the problem. even if there was none of that, it would still be fanned by politicians and pundits. which is another way of saying every international competition ends up that way. so you can't really call it extremist. it's an entirely normal display of nationalism and tribalism
