The movie nailed it frankly.
The appeal of facebook was to the consumer- its sleek and minimalist front end.
to the investor/advisor- its up and coming underdog status
And now its an add infested nightmare held by one of the earth's great corporations.
There's a reason why dot-com's keep bursting. The only edge they have over their competitors in a market with nearly no barrier to entry is their aesthetic appeal. Most are functionally near identical in their products.
Soon as a 'hip' competitor reaches critical mass, its done.
