If it is public it is paid for by taxes, like the lower grades. If you charge you are double dipping.


Also, more importantly imho, the focus should be more on creating well rounded individuals rather than highly specialized workers. If you make education less of an "industry" that turns' out a product and more of a way to help people reach their full potential as human beings we would probably be better off.

Well, if you were educated in the US you do not exactly have what I mean by a well rounded education. Our system trains specialists to fit within a compartmentalized setting.

First thing, critical thinking is essential to the actualization of an individual. So, if you are not being taught to think critically you aren't actually being educated. You are being trained or conditioned to know only the desired answer and act accordingly.

"practical skills" means being able to sit there all day and do the same thing over and over.

We need balanced work complexes and balanced workers to fill the positions.
