If you cut support for young adults trying to attend college without effectively evaluating other economic problems, you're just screwing over an entire generation (other than wealthy and upper-middle class kids). Businesses emphasize a college degree. Without one, you're barely marketable. It used to be that passing high school was 'enough,' but that was at a time when the minimum wage was $10 (adjusted for inflation) and opportunities in trades were more prevalent than in retail.
