oh neat, a regressive tax scheme. definitely the way to build a strong economy.

The Comrade hit the nail on the head here. I feel that those numbers were pulled out of a hat, because they don't in any way reflect reality.

I actually like the scheme, if done right, but done right, you end up with almost no taxes on middle class and below. You have to represent the actual cost of living in this country, which includes most purchases and nearly all income of most citizens. It would also need to be paired with some way to stop the externalization of labor costs by companies (paying less for labor than it takes for labor to live). That last bit though, is tricky enough to make this probably not be workable though as raising pay feeds back into the whole mess by raising the cost of living.

The 320 billion will go to local police, fire and rescue agencies across America. However, the jurisdictions with the greatest amount of crime will have priority. We aim to increase the number of police officers from 800,000 to 2 million. We also hope to improve compensation, benefits, vehicle fleets, weaponry, and technology.

Our tax system is actually progressive. The first $20,000 anyone earns is tax free. The Goods and Services Tax will have annual rebates. Then we have the tax on Derivatives. Also we plan to keep the Estate Tax. The capital gains tax will be waived for reinvesting in manufacturing or urban and rural enterprises.

all that does is mean everyone below the poverty line is untaxed and then everyone else gets f**k brutalized by taxes.
