Well, if this happens I guess I'll just have to get a device which just cancels out the kill command or overpowers the signal suppression.

If it's open source, then there would/could likely be some programming that would prevent your phone from being affected. I know there are apps that prevent a 3rd party from "wiping" your phone. If it prevents that type of interference, it'd likely prevent this, too.
It's not like they are putting a blanket on the transmission frequencies. They are just programming your phone.
