We really should have never gone into Syria and the fact that we did anyway, in a country that was already years into a civil war, should not be any reason to feel like we have to stay. I don’t know for sure why Trump is leaving and why he’s doing it now, but of all the things to fight him on, this isn’t one IMO. We should actually encourage him to maintain his focus on getting our troops out of other places like Afghanistan as well. Better to keep him occupied with that and being the war ended president than have him focused on domestic administration of the executive branch or trade policy, etc.
