Being devoted to the eradication of poverty, starvation, famine, destitution, significant income disparity, and wage slavery doesn't mean you have to live like a saint. Is someone a hypocrite if they're pro-life but refuse to give every penny in their wallet to mothers who abort for financial reasons?

How about a certain minimal level of care that ensures shelter food and medical care for everyone, but which doesn't cap income at the top brackets?
I think ex's idea for tying top salary to being 40 times that of the lowest paid employee would serve admirably in that capacity. Also he's right, there is no excuse for poverty to exist in a modern, developed society.
One can basically make as much as they want to, but they have to pay their employees handsomely to do so.

I appreciate the support guys, but it is perfectly obvious that opposition to this policy isn't based on logic, it is based strictly on the need to feel ideologically pure.
