There is no "tax duty" there are "tax laws". If you don't want them violated, write them correctly. I'm fine with putting appropriate taxation on corporations, but to pretend there is some moral imperative that they are expected to follow? No. Claiming that it is somehow "righteous" to pay taxes? No. If I could legally avoid all taxation, I would in a heartbeat with no moral qualms.

Um, so in other words you want something for nothin'.

Let me put it this way: it's pretty much a hoot to hear Romney complain about the 47% of the country that are parasites allegedly as he dodges every tax he can while rolling in money.

One of the reasons Romney and so many others (like, COUGH, Google) are able to make money is because of the society, market and infrastructure that comes from having a stable country with a functioning gov't. And that gov't requires financing. And as we see over and over, people won't give their money voluntarily (even when it's not voluntary!) so taxes are necessary.

So these people want all the benefits of a wealthy, free society but they don't want to pay anything for it.

In that scenario, who's really the parasite?

So long as governments don't do anything about countries that allow companies to dodge taxes by funnelling money through them then companies are going to do it - ultimately the job of their executives is to make as much money as possible for shareholders.

The UK loses a fortune in taxes because companies can perfectly legally funnel money through Ireland. Of course when Ireland went bust because they just contain a load of shell companies rather then companies actually employing people and because they don't charge enough tax the UK government promptly wrote a cheque to bail them out of their self-created mess. Real incentive to change there.

What makes it possible isn't capitalism, it is bad government.

I don't blame anyone for avoiding taxes.

They'll just waste the money and then demand more like a spoiled child.

The US gov is a blackhole into which money disappears and is barely, if ever, properly accounted for.

How long would you give someone money that always demands more and never tells you what they did with the last money you gave them?

Corporations aren't people. They really aren't even individuals no matter what Scalia says. They should be treated, tax wise, like the majority of business in this country are, as pass through entities.
