Opiates are awesome. Yeah, high potential for abuse, but they're not destructive to one's health like alcohol and amphetamines, and opiate addictions won't kill you like a Xanax addiction. Leave people alone. Even a heroin addict is much more preferable to an alcoholic.
I am being a little fictitious, but at the same time I think politicians are hypocritical for trying to distinguish between opiates and alcohol.

Yeah.. This thread seems to be a bit of an overreaction..
From what I'm reading since this story broke these guidelines are voluntary.. AND they only apply to the emergency room, not to other departments. Also these guidelines do NOT apply to private hospitals and doctors.
Also from what I'm reading some other states already have these types of restrictions, and even tougher..
BUT if people are afraid, then stay away.. 9 million people in one city is enough anyway.
