Bill, I believe Hyperion is talking about a salaried employee having to work far more than his usual hours on a regular basis for the same salaried pay. Not overtime for extra pay.

If you work in the private industry depends on the employer, if you work for the state/gubmint you shouldnt be paid overtime at taxpayer's expense.

What POS said. It's a voluntary employment. As long as nobody has put a gun to your head and said you MUST work at this place that is making you work all of these hours, you have not a leg to stand on.
