I didn't have a job that offered health insurance until I was working full time in 2000 and I always had to pay health care that I remember.

There is nothing curious about a company that owns like 4% of the individual market in California not wanting to partake against the 4 firms that have almost 90% market share.
They simply don't have the resources established to compete. They're the largest nationally, but they're crumbs in California.
It would be alarming if the big Cali 4 opted out. But they didn't.

It's nice that premiums seem to be going down, but still! $200-$500? Per month? Every month? The mind boggles. Anyway, good for California. I'm glad a way's been found to reign in your really outrageous health care costs a bit.
