If the US ruled the rest of the world, then either the rest of the world would be deprived of their right to vote which would be outrageous and would quickly lead to the violent overthrow of the US and subsequent destruction. Or the rest of the world would vote in the same way US citizens currently do and the US would merely host the seat of government while the rest of the world ruled the US.
So it's a pretty dumb proposition.

Why would I want the US to rule anyone else? I think that our Federal government should be smaller, not larger.
And, why would I want to end wars between other countries? They are (so long as we don't become involved) fairly profitable for us. Especially the ME, where we sell some pretty nice aircraft and other equipment.

Being a actual empire is more trouble than its worth. Establishing a 'pax' takes a blood huge great hoping among of resources. Frankly, I don't think the U.S is even up to it, back when the soviets were actually ruling the about a 1/3rd of the globe like an empire their people had to wait in lines for bread everyday.
